Answer
Will AI tools see my code?
AI model providers see your code or data only when you approve each provider in writing. If you tick no provider, none of them sees your code, and the work is still delivered.
How consent works
You give consent by ticking providers in the Schedule of the Agreement or in a Statement of Work. A provider sees your code only after that tick.
If you tick no provider, no AI model provider sees your code or data. I still do the work and deliver it in the same written form.
My usual providers are Anthropic for Claude and Claude Code, and OpenAI for Codex and the OpenAI API. I use them only through paid accounts in my own name.
What I turn off
Where a provider offers a setting that stops it from using my inputs to train its models, I turn that setting off for every account I use on client work.
I never put secrets or personal data into an AI prompt. Secrets travel only through your secret manager or a one-time encrypted link.
No other provider sees your code or data without your separate written consent. This includes free hosted models, other model vendors and AI features inside third-party tools.
What I review
I review every change that an AI tool helped to write before it reaches a pull request. The pull request description says when an AI tool helped.
If you withdraw consent for a provider, I stop using it on your work from that moment.
Copies that a provider holds follow that provider’s own retention terms. I cannot delete them. That is one more reason why a provider sees your code only with your consent.
